Tamashii Nations Event 2020

While many conventions have been put on hold in a physical sense, we’ve seen a welcome increase in virtual events all over the globe. The obvious upside to this is that if you don’t live in places like Tokyo, you can still attend events there, at least virtually.

What with the recent success of the Tamashii Features 2020 virtual event, we now have a new event tied into Comic-Con@Home.

Hosted at the Tamashii Nations Tokyo store, the event has quite a lot on display as well as some interesting event exclusives, but more of those later.

In case you’ve not been to the Tamashii Nations Store in Tokyo, this is a three-floor ongoing event space merged with a shop. Previously, there was a showroom in Akihabara but this new store also handles that and a lot more.

This means if you want to see the latest and upcoming toys from Bandai Spirits, you can see them in the flesh at Tamashii Nations Tokyo.

If you don’t live in Tokyo though, then this new event allows you to tour the Tamashii Nations Tokyo store and check out all the items on display.

The main focus of this event is primarily on the Dragon Ball series and has a lot of amazing toys on show. There are also some great Meisho Movie Realization figures on display as well as some Godzilla related items.

However, the interested additions to this are the event exclusive items that you can purchase online. The five main Dragon Ball figures are for Son Goku Ultra Instinct “Sign”, Android 17, Android 18, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Vegito and Super Saiyan Broly.

The first three are very nice S.H.Figuarts figures, which are fully articulated and can be posed to your heart’s content. The sculpt and detailing are also very nicely done and quite fine with it.

While Android 17 and 18 are obvious fan favorites, the Ultra Instinct Goku is actually quite amazing. So if you enjoyed Dragon Ball Super, you will definitely want to pick this one up.

Talking of Dragon Ball Super, the Vegito figure comes from the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie and is a fixed pose Figuarts ZERO statue. This means it’s bigger than the S.H.Figuarts toys but has a lot more detail effects parts. You can also swap out the face too.

The Figuarts ZERO Broly is also again a fixed posed statue but this version of Broly is not the one from the Dragon Ball Super movie but instead from the classic 1993 anime movie Dragon Ball Z: Broly – The Legendary Super Saiyan. It’s a big figure too, with an imposing sculpt but also some pretty massive effects parts as well.

To tie all these together, you also have a Dragon Ball Tamashii Stage stand with a new metallic finish, which is great for setting up your S.H.Figuarts figures for dynamic aerial poses.

So make sure to check out the new Tamashii Nations 2020 event and not miss out on these great new items!
